The GEN2 Platform Retires in South Africa

CleanSubSea retires the GEN2 platform in South Africa as it prepares for completion of the new GEN3 Envirocart systems.

The GEN2 platform has delivered significant value, provided critical insights and enabled numerous technological advancements that have directly enhanced the GEN3 system’s constructability, maintainability and overall reliability. Building on the GEN2 platform, engineering and design of the Envirocart GEN3 system is rapidly approaching completion, with procurement and manufacturing now well advanced at our Perth facilities.

In light of this next phase of the technology’s commercialisation, the GEN2 system will be retired from operations and returned to Perth for further analysis. All future system testing, commissioning and demonstration activities will be consolidated in Western Australia utilising the GEN3 system leveraging the Company’s existing infrastructure, personnel, and
supply chain. This strategic shift will deliver operational efficiencies, reduce costs and ensure a more streamlined technology deployment pathway of this new platform.

CleanSubSea remains committed to the South African market. Based on ongoing market assessments and a sustainable business case, the Company will actively consider reentry once the GEN3 system becomes commercially available.
